Your TraceMyIP account password should be changed periodically to maintain the security of your account and prevent unauthorized access to your account. It is recommended that you never store unencrypted login information on your computer. If you need to store login information on your computer, you can use a password storage utility called “KeePass”.

To change/update the password under your TraceMyIP account:

  • Login to your account
  • Go to “My Account” menu
  • Select “Change Password” menu item
  • Enter your current password and then enter your new password twice, to confirm that you correctly type it in
  • Click on the “Update” button at the bottom

While changing your password you have the following options:

  • Email yourself a copy of your login information to the current email address on file by checking the box “Email me my login info including password”, and then submitting your new password change
  • Recover your current password by clicking on the link provided on your “Change Password” account page.

Note: If you opted to have your login information emailed to you, it is recommended that you delete the email containing your login information as soon as you store it in a safe place.
